SHF Grants $196,000 in Health-Related Scholastic Awards for Local Grads in 2025!
The Samaritan Hospital Foundation is pleased to again offer scholastic awards to local graduates residing in Ashland County, UH Samaritan Medical Center employees and their immediate family members. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted in an accredited program in the areas of nursing, medicine, or allied medical studies.
This year, Samaritan Hospital Foundation (SHF) once again increased its support for the next generation of nursing and allied medical students by increasing total grants to the highest amount to date, reaching $196,000 in scholastic awards supporting 54 local students—more than a $56,000 increase over last year!
The Foundation gave several different types of awards this year. The Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Scholastic Award was awarded to Haley Bergosh; the Gounder & Ponnammal Scholastic Award went to Tiffany Whytsell; the Elizabeth Myers Mitchell Scholastic Award went to Cayla McQuillen and Chloe Smith; and the Alice E Stinchcomb Award was given to Emma Agee. The Nancy J. Stockwell Scholastic Award is helping four students with their education this year: Allison Barr, Nicole Beattie, Lanndrie Cooke, and Andrew Fulk. The SHF North Central State College Scholastic Award went to three deserving students: Gingerine Beard, Alanna Campbell, and Reagan Hayes. The Dr. Philip E. Myers Medical Scholastic Award went to Cody Luke. The Paul R. Myers Medical Scholastic Award went to Tyler Radziszewski.
Three students received the Samaritan Hospital Foundation Presidential Scholastic Award: Maria Welch, Misty Welch, and Morgan Welch. Forty-three students received Samaritan Hospital Foundation Scholastic Awards, including: Allison Barr, Griffin Adkins, Ramey Adkins, Emma Agee, Haley Bergosh, Alanna Campbell, Bailey Davis, Frances Dinsmore, Maddison Dolenga, Emma Drugan, Yijie Feng, Gavin Finger, Clowie Flinner, Emma Flinner, Emily Fry, Sidney Fry, Chloe Ganson, Bryn Grabowski, Ellie Hageman, Reagan Hayes, Zoe Hunt, Rylee Kline, Jianmei Lefelhoc, Aubrianna Lugli, Cayla McQuillen, McKinley Mendenhall, Emily Musgrove, Bailey Parsons, Grace Rivenburgh, Cameron Sloter, Erica Van Stee, Olivia Szmania, Jessica Wally, Grant Wallery, Abbie Ward, Alena Wasielewski, Aliya Watson, Tiffany Whytsell, Whitney Wilson, Emily Workman, Elysia Zehner, Alayna Zeigler, and Maxwell Zywica.
