Samaritans Club Donations Matched by Samaritan Hospital Foundation Purchase Much-Needed Equipment for Hospital

In September, nearly 30 members of the Samaritans Club gathered to vote on where annual donations would best assist the hospital in improving patient quality of care. The Samaritan Hospital Foundation (SHF) annual giving club was founded more than 15 years ago to support our local hospital’s equipment needs. Every dollar members give is matched by SHF and 100% goes toward the purchase of new medical equipment, helping ensure the best care possible for patients.

During the annual event, hospital department managers present their department’s needs before Samaritans Club members cast their vote on which equipment items will be purchased.

Combined contributions from 136 members were matched by SHF to stretch the club’s purchasing power, totaling $60,000! Additionally, one member offered to purchase 5 of the items that were not selected to be purchased for the hospital! Club members were able to purchase much-needed equipment items for the hospital, including: new office chairs for the Cath Lab and CT areas, Hercules Automatic Patient movement systems to outfit 4 beds (2 ICU and 2 Med Surg), 4 patient recliners, a patient hair washing station, 11 patient high back chairs for OR patients and family, 20 office chairs for OR staff, pediatric cause and effect toys for physical therapy/occupational therapy/speech therapy, 2 manual muscle testers with Bluetooth, and a new stepper machine for post-operative rehab. The Radiology Department received a 3D TV probe ultrasound, table stand/arm rest, and sky light panel covers for both scan rooms. The COPD Clinic received a bedside monitor with printer, as well as a new monitor with EKG and Pulse Ox capabilities.

The Samaritans Club offers three membership levels: Individuals $100, Couples $150, Businesses $200, The Caring Heart $500, and The Heart of Giving Circle $1,000.

If you feel strongly about keeping quality medical care close to home for you and your loved ones, join forces with other supporters in our community through the Samaritans Club.
