Forty-four young mothers gathered at Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, OH on October 28th to learn more about the plans for a new Birthing and Women’s Unit at Samaritan Hospital. Bev Spreng, Development Director for Samaritan Hospital Foundation, and Steve Carroll, Director of Marketing/Public Relations for Samaritan Regional Health System, spoke about the need for expansion and renovation of the Birthing and Women’s Unit and shared a video presentation which included renderings of the new B&W Unit and comments from four of Ashland’s OB-GYNs, a local pediatrician and representatives from the nursing staff explaining the design and function benefits of the proposed renovation plans. Samaritan’s two newest OB-GYNs, Dr. Jerome Klobutcher and Dr. Roopa Gupta, also attended and participated in a health related question and answer panel, along with local dentist, Dr. Mike Spreng. Materials were distributed to the women to take home and share with their family and friends.
